About the Job

Join Inn-Flow as an Accounting Specialist, responsible for supporting our customers with complex accounting tasks and overseeing the successful execution of bookkeeping services.  The role requires a high level of expertise in accounting principles, financial analysis, and software proficiency.  Accounting Specialists will also assist with client escalations and provide frequent, collaborative guidance to Bookkeeping Service Agents.

What You Will Do

  • Advanced Accounting Activities: Collaborating directly with customers to validate accuracy of core accounting services performed by other team members. These activities include:
    • Partnering with assigned accounts to develop clear, repeatable guidance for Bookkeeping Service Agents to use when processing financial transactions
    • Review of invoice entry and coding
    • Certify completion of weekly bank reconciliations
    • Review of Monthly Financials, including the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Statement, monthly reconciliations, journal entries, and closing reports
  • Customer Support: Collaborate directly with customers to help answer complex accounting requests and financial analysis.
  • Implementation & Onboarding: Work alongside the Implementation and Client Success teams to ensure smooth onboarding and integration of financial systems for new clients.  Develop understanding of their current accounting setup, including chart of accounts, departmental structures, and revenue mapping.
  • Process Improvement: Inn-Flow focuses on continuous improvement of its internal processes; this role will work with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Business Growth: We’re always looking for ways to improve the value of our services. The Bookkeeping Specialist will react to customer requests and advocate for new offers.   Propose enhancements to our platform that could better serve clients and streamline the integration process.

What You Need

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Accounting Experience: Proven experience (5+ years) working as a Controller, accounting manager or similar bookkeeping or accounting role, preferably within hospitality.
  • Multi-State tax experience- Experience calculating and processing various taxes in a multi-state setting, including state sales, use, F&B, and occupancy taxes.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of USALI and GAAP accounting principles and practices.
  • Collaborative Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Communication & ownership: Clear writing, steady stakeholder management, and bias for action.
  • Customer Service: Commitment to delivering exceptional client service and maintaining client confidentiality.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational abilities and a keen sense of ownership over your work.

What Makes You a Standout

  • Hotel Experience: Proven experience (7+ years) working in a financial role in a Hotel, Hotel Management Company, or Similar.
  • USALI Knowledge – Understanding of the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading financial month-end close for a large portfolio of hotels and taking ownership of reporting deadlines.
  • Experience with centralized accounting functions in the hospitality industry.
  • Prior experience transitioning to a new accounting system, system integrations, or implementation support.
  • Experience with hotel-specific accounting platforms, property management systems, and point of sale systems.
