We recently held our 2025 kickoff at the Westin in Raleigh, bringing together US-based team members from near and far to celebrate our 2024 accomplishments and lay the groundwork for the year ahead.
When our team comes together, you can feel the energy in the air. We spent our kickoff reflecting on the many milestones from the previous year, discussing how we could replicate and build on that success, and then mapping out new initiatives to drive innovation in hospitality technology. These sessions weren’t just about setting lofty targets; they were about including every voice in the room and making sure each department’s unique strengths and insights were heard.
One of the highlights was bringing our remote US employees face-to-face with colleagues they typically see only on video calls. Between casual coffee chats, impromptu brainstorming huddles, and an evening filled with stories and laughs, we strengthened personal connections that often get overlooked in a virtual setting. We also took a break from the typical conference-room setting to try our hand at curling. If you’ve never done it, imagine a fusion of shuffleboard and ice skating, with a healthy dose of friendly rivalry. It’s surprisingly challenging, but the best part was the laughter and camaraderie that sprang up as everyone embraced (or slipped on) the ice.
Of course, after long stretches of strategizing, we made sure to celebrate properly. A Brazilian steak dinner was on the menu, giving us a chance to unwind and share stories beyond business. Whether comparing curling moves or discussing our favorite travel destinations, these candid conversations reminded us that a thriving company culture is about bringing people together in meaningful ways.
